Scents have a special ability to remind us of people, places and moments that left a mark on us. And that very ability is one of the reasons the byRoman brand came to be.

You surely know the feeling: you're walking down the street, someone passes by and suddenly a familiar scent hits you.
Maybe it reminds you of someone you haven't seen in years. A vacation when something special happened. Or a time in your life you still look back on with a smile.
The interesting thing is that just a few seconds earlier, none of it was on your mind.
And suddenly images, places and feelings come to mind that you may not even know you remember so well.
This is exactly what fascinates me about scents.
Their ability to remind us of something we had long thought forgotten.
Not every memory needs a photograph
We live in a time when we document almost everything.
We take photos of our vacations, our food, our trips and ordinary moments with the people we love. We want to keep as many moments as possible to come back to one day.
But some memories simply don't fit into a photo.
The feeling of a summer evening. The atmosphere of a place we visited for the first time. A quiet morning at home or a hug from someone who means a lot to us.
And sometimes it's scent that forms the strongest link to moments like these.
It might be the smell of freshly brewed coffee, rain on a hot street, wood or a perfume we wore during a certain period of our lives.
We may no longer remember every detail. But when we catch that scent again, for a moment it feels as if we were back there.
Why are scents so powerful?
It isn't just our imagination. Our sense of smell really is very closely connected to the parts of the brain involved in processing emotions and memory.
That's also why a familiar scent can bring back a vivid memory, often completely unexpectedly.
Unlike a photograph, which we open on purpose, a scent can catch us at any moment.
We don't have to look for it. It simply appears.
And sometimes it brings along emotions we had almost forgotten.
For me, this is one of the most beautiful things about perfume.
It's not only about how we smell to others. It's also about what a fragrance can stir in ourselves.
Today, too, will one day become a memory
We often think the most beautiful memories are made during life's big events.
On vacation, at celebrations, at special get-togethers or in moments we had long looked forward to.
But in reality, many of them form quite quietly.
On a slow Sunday morning. In a conversation with someone close. On an ordinary walk, or in the moment when, after a hard day, we finally find time for ourselves.
Maybe today we're living through something we'll remember with a smile a few years from now.
And maybe the fragrance we're wearing right now will be part of that memory.

When I started thinking about a perfume brand of my own, I knew I didn't want to create fragrances that simply follow the current trends.
I wanted each of them to have its own idea, atmosphere and story.
Not just a mix of interesting ingredients, but above all an idea I want to share through fragrance.
That's how the byRoman philosophy came about.
It always starts with an idea. It might be a mood, a place, a memory or simply a moment we'd like to hold on to.
That's exactly how Creamy Matcha came about too: my idea of a perfect day, captured in a fragrance.
But that's not where its story ends.
The moment a perfume reaches someone else, it starts creating entirely new stories. It becomes part of their life, their experiences and their memories.
And for me, that's the most beautiful part of this whole idea.
A fragrance that will one day mean something
I believe a perfume doesn't have to be just an accessory we put on in the morning before leaving the house.
It can become something far more personal.
A quiet part of our days, our important decisions, our meetings, or the moments when we simply feel good.
And maybe one day, when we catch that same scent after a long time, all those moments will come back to us.
That's exactly why, through byRoman, I want to create fragrances that have meaning.
Not to tell us what we should feel.
But to give us room to make our own memories.
Because one day you might not remember what you're wearing today. But you might remember what this day smelled like.
